How did you Meet?
My wife and I have had mutual friends since middle school. We grew up in the same neighborhood attending the same elementary, middle and high school. We had never had a conversation until we ran into each other on Fort Lauderdale beach in 2008. I was with my best man who she knew and stopped to converse with and from then we spoke and have been inseparable ever since.
How long did you all date?
We dated for 2 years and from that point I knew this was the woman that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. She’s very domesticated and has an amazing personality. I proposed to her in 2011 and that’s when our planning journey began.
Can you give me a summary of your special day?
Our wedding took place in Boca Raton, very close to home. Although I had a hand in planning the entire wedding, the tux was all my doing. I wanted to go for a James Bond look but my wife had doubts all along. She couldn’t stop expressing how happy she was when she seen how it all came together. Everything and I mean everything went smoothly that day to my surprise. I was amazed at how all the details I kept telling my wife no one would notice had such an impact on the day.
Favorite part or parts of the wedding?
There were so many good parts to our wedding. Watching my bride come down the aisle crying was the best part of my wedding day. I will never forget that moment. Any worries I had all went away at that point and I felt like the luckiest man in the world. It surprised me at how much of an emotional ceremony we had. The tears of joy were flowing not only through us but our entire bridal party and guest were all in tears. My wife’s friend and bridesmaid serenaded us with a beautiful song and her performance was surprisingly amazing to me because I had never heard her sing before.
What was one surprising thing you found out about your spouse after you got married?
I found out how passionate she is about the love she has for my son. She has embraced her role as a stepmother in a way I could never have imagined.
If you could change/add/subtract one thing about your wedding day what would it be?
I do have to say that one thing I would’ve subtracted was one particular in-law who caused a minor hiccup but hey, what’s a wedding without a bit of family drama. LOL!
What is the best piece marriage of advice you have received?
Spend every day making it a competition of who can spoil each other the most.
What advice would you give other couples?
To always put god first in your relationship and in everything you do. When things get hard always remember it’s just a test. God never gives you more than you can handle.
